Analog Radio VS. Digital Radio.
So what is Analog Radio and Digital
Radio?
Analog radio broadcasting works by
converting the sounds into electrical signals. The signals are then transmitted
by a carrier wave to the analog radio reciever which then converts the signals
back into audio.
On the other hand, Digital radio
broadcasting converts the sounds into digital numbers which are then
transmitted by a carrier wave to the digital radio reciever.
What is the difference between the two
Radios?
To find the differences between Analog
and Digital radio I have searched on the web and found a role play
demonstrating the distinctions between both radios:
In many circumstances, Digital radio
broadcasting is better than Analog, this is one reason why:
Digital radio offers many benefits when
compared to Analogue radio. In comparison to Analog, Digital radio has:
1. Astounding Speech Quality- no static, fading or noise.
2. Greater Security- can't be eavesdropped with traditional scanners.
3. More Features- GPS tracking etc.
4. Direct Calling- you can call the radio directly.
5. Longer Battery Life- generally 2-6 hours extra usage.
6. Stronger Range- stronger signals at the extremities and gives a
much further usable range.
